    Cannondale F29 C3 2013 vs F29 C3 2014

In terms of specs, what do you think, is it worth waiting for F29 Carbon 3 2014?

I think it is worth waiting for 2014, but that's my opinion.

Thanks for your opinion, but could u be more specific? This might be my first 29er as well as replacement for my recently fractured RM Vertex. As far as I know both frames, apart of different color schemes, will be identical. Cannondale changed some components such as brakes, rear derailleur ,rear hub, rims, saddle and ,most importantly, reduced price. However, I could probably get the 2013 model cheaper.

If I was just going to ride the bike and not upgrade anything I might go with the 2014 because of the Magura brakes. Seems no one likes the Avids and that's the first thing that gets swapped out. The rest of the parts mix seem to be a wash, I prefer the XT derailleur on the '13 but Stans rims on the '14.

If you plan on upgrades anyway buy the less expensive bike and start up specing the parts.

I have a '12 C3 and upgraded the wheels (P321/Hope/Crests), brakes (Hope Race evo), crank (XX) and was fine with the rest of the parts that came OEM.

    Cannondale F29 C3 2013 vs F29 C3 2014

Can you get a deal on a '13 F29 -2 with the carbon XLR fork? It's the best fork in the World. Otherwise, go for the '14 with better brakes. IMO the 2013 dash-2 offers a lot with a big discount, although finding your size could be tricky.

The F29 Carbon 2 is fitted with the standard xlr fork. The link I included is for a reference only and all prices are in EUR. I could get the Carbon 3, here in Europe, for much cheaper, cca.3000 USD for F29C3 compared to 4290USD for the F29C2.
In that respect, I think that Carbon 3 is one of Cdale's best values.

Another Question. How does Cannondale lifetime warranty work? Is it really a lifetime warranty or just, as I heard, 7 years warranty on the frame?

I got my C´dale F29 C3 for a decent price in August. I did not want to wait for the 2014 model. The differences are relatively marginal (2014: perhaps better brakes, rear hub...) and I have also prefered the 2013 design.

I thought the 2014 had better rims as well?

Stan's ZTR on the 2014 model. They might or might not be better than the WTB frequency on the 2013. Since I have never tried Stan's rims, I cannot really comment on them.

    Cannondale F29 C3 2013 vs F29 C3 2014

Love my '13 F29 C3, but the '14 looks to address the two things I wasn't a fan of on mine. The wheels, which have been trouble since day two, and the crank has a removable spider so you can use a direct mount wolf tooth ring for a 1x10 setup. I'd say either buy the '13 and upgrade the wheels or go for the '14. Great bike though either way!

I just got a '14 and think I'll at least upgrade the front de and the shifter (both sram x7) and possibly throw some carbon wheels on there, maybe the seat post as well as I got a medium and have heard the seat posts are a lil short for people around my height, 5'11.

Congrats on the purchase! Here you can find more information about the chainsuck issue : CHAINSUCK PROTECTOR. It can apply to any bike under certain (wet, mechanical wear) conditions. I´ve taken care of it simply by wrapping an inner tube around the exposed chainstay area. So far, I haven't had any problems.

Not sure if the chain suck persisted beyond the 2011 models, the reason may have been due to the FSA Chain-rings and/or rear derailleur - I don't believe that there was ever any conclusive/official diagnosis.
Search the forums for older threads about this issue.
I replaced the FSA crankset with XO and the chain suck occurred very rarely - maybe twice in a year.
I recently replaced the RD to medium cage XX and the crankset to Hollowgrams - it is now 100% bulletproof.
Can't go wrong with this combination LOL...

I haven't been a fan of the brakes. No chain suck, so far. My X7 shifters/FD have worked fine. (My last bike had X0.) Congrats on the new bike.
