I built up a SS using the Beer BB. I used Middleburn Cranks with their hard coated 1 pc spider and ring deal. Can't say if it creaks as I haven't ridden the thing yet. A buddy of mine has been racing against a guy that is running the Beer and he says it doesn't seem to creak or anything. That's my only concern. It's bean over a year since I built this thing. Just haven't found the fitness to want to suffer yet. The Scalpel 29 is just too comfotable to want to get off of. My SS is a flash hi mod.

I already responded in the SS forum, but not sure how often you check that.
I love mine, and I guess I'll take the opportunity to post another pic!

Raced the High Cascades 100 on Saturday. It finally did start to creak slightly after 80+ miles of the dustiest, rockiest, hardest climbing trails I've ever done in a 100 miler. It was only noticeable on the steepest climbs over those last 18 or so miles. I couldn't get any noise out of it on the ride in to work this morning. I'm planning on pulling it to clean and lube it tomorrow, and I'll report back on how it looks.

Mine creeks a lot on hard grinding. I'm going to remove and reinstall with more grease.

I'm running it on a Cannondale Flash carbon with XTR 970 cranks. No creaks yet.
