    Beat the Wife!!

I have come up with a great way to get away with buying a new bike without the other half finding out, buy the same colour!!! It worked for me, she only sees me riding one at any time so she is non the wiser. Just hope she does not venture into the garage.

Or - just tell her they only cost $79. Show her the Wal Mart ads with Huffy's and say they're basically the same thing. You can have five of 'em and not even have to hide them.

She does the same thing thing to you with dresses and shoes, right?

My wife just found out about my new lefty pbr and my dinolight 400 duel light kits last night. Don't clean your new toys after a ride....... they notice new shinny paint I guess. New bikes and parts are safer right.

Guys, I just told her that my entire build (Prophet) cost a little over $650 bucks. If I would have told her that it was closer to 2k she would have flipped. Either way it worked out great for me cause I got her into the sport as well. She thinks her bike (F5) cost $500. Hahahaaaaa

I consistently lie about the actual cost of everything bike-related I buy. I feel bad about it but I don't lie to her about anything else and feel that this is the best way.

The one time, she almost caught me. She stared at my Surly LHT with Brooks saddle and Nitto racks front and rear and other stuff and said "I don't know much about bikes but this looks like it cost a lot more than $400..."

That's why I control the cash flow into the house. I know how much is spent on either end. My wife still thinks that I am making the same money I was 4 years ago. I don't feel proud of myself nor do I restrict the amount of money my wife spends. I just keep it to a logical amount and there are no $1000 handbags in my wife's closet.

With that being said I do buy things/gifts for my wife and do not tell her how much they really cost. I mean come on guys, this keeps both of us happy and who wants to deal with the nagging anyways??
