    The Bad Boy Stories

    So I created a sub blog to dersnap.com. I already have shared a few things on this in regards to Brooks Bags, and various other things of interest. Still hopefully this fits under the Cannondale thread but maybe it is slightly more evolving outside this:

    The Bad Boy Stories is simply showing what I started off with this bike with and then various adventures and upgrade, mods, etc. Sort of my personal journey if you will.

    Hopefully with some DNS delays www.thebadboystories.com will direct you to the links for anyone interested.

    A long time from the updates with thebadboystories.com but I promise there is much more updates to come in the near future.
    The adding or switching to the 650b tires, on the Stan's Crest Rims with Chris King Hubs, new drive train, brakes, etc will soon also be added. But for now I have added the latest article looking at my Top Peak Floor Pump and Lezyne hand pump. Both of which I highly recommend.

    My Bad Boy Rolls with Thunder and the King! **Keep On Rolling**

    Just the latest post I have done and some of my journey through the various wheels, tires which has lead to the current Bad Boy wheel upgrade.

    5 plus years on the Chris King ISO hubs, and running tubeless along with some of my experiences.

    I love your BB with 650b rims / tyres. I have been thinking about this combo on my BB (2007) for a while now, but been concerned about clearance, as you mentioned on your fine report.
    The wheels compliment it perfectly. I will have to go that way in the future.

    I tried 650b and somehow the ride did not feel right....my 2001 Bad Boy Ultra "likes" either 26" or 700c. With Kenda Small Block 8 Cyclocross 32c tires, run tubeless on Velocity Blunt SL Pro wheels - the 19-pound BB feels like a road bike that can tackle anything. Good work!

    I could almost go 2,5 if it wasn't for the side clearance of the tires. Thunder Burt is really at the last 1mm on each side. Literally if the bike is not tightened with the quick release the tires rub as that is how close a fit it is.

    Depending on how you are setup on the bike it could also be a huge difference in feel. I will update at a later time but I have changed stem length, seat position, etc to get everything perfect. It was only when I did this did i realize the other tire sizes where just slightly off for me.

    Different people different riding and sizes also and I have seen guys on medium frames that are 6 foot 6 plus riding with ridiculously large seat posts. Obviously not a correct geometry in that case then, but try to tell them that.
