I don't get how the pro's ride super steep negative stems and Cannondale offers only a subtle minus five'er in their OEM stem. Hope they rectify that in the new version! I've got a flopped 73 degree Ritchey on my Flash 29'er and that just keeps the bar from rising above the top of the headtube, which is already pretty high...

i had been searching for a 110mm -5 degree rise cannondale stem forever and was told they didn't exist i didn't like the 100mm that came stock so i opted for the 120mm till i found this on ebay yesterday Cannondale LEFTY XC3 SI MTB Stem 110mm -5D x 31.8mm i hope it wasn't a misprint.

The 110mm / -5 degree stem steerer is a standard Cannondale part. I swapped out mine before I took delivery of my Flash 29er. It only took 4 days to get and cost $100 minus my team discount. If your dealer tells you this isn't a standard part, find another dealer.

Wow! I just checked out the e-bay listing. It looks legit and that $29.95 price is unbelievable. The listing I looked at showed 9 available.

I bought one. It didn't come with the bottom "bolt" which is claimed to be structural member (i.e. not optional) but I found one of those on eBay as well. Sweet deal for sure.

well back in january the dinky 100mm stem that came on my flash 29er didn't work and i was told that cannondale didn't make a 110mm -5 stem so i opted for a 120mm -5 this has been OK but i'd liked to of tried a 110mm before going with the 120mm.

since i'm not to keen on trying to hammer out a stem steerer i gotta take it to the shop today and have them beat on it for a while and then get out and ride as much as possible since we leave for colorado in a week.

the $29 deal on ebay was too good to pass up so what if it didn't come with a bottom cap you can get those pretty easy.

ebay also had a sweet deal on the black anno cannondale hollogram sl crank bolts a few days ago.

I have red on my new Hollowgrams, but would like blacks and that ebay sale ended. I'll look around the shop when I put on the XX spider this week, hopefully I can find them.
