    Another Scalpel chain ring question...

What are the options for the 29T chain ring on a hollowgram 2x9? I have been searching for 5-bolt, 29T, 94BCD rings and I cant find any online. Has anyone replaced the stock one? Mine is starting to get worn out and chain-sucking so will need a replacement shortly.

if you want an original replacement any 'good' cannondale should be able to get you one.

what is wrong with the stock cannondale 29t chainring?

like they said any decent cannondale shop should be able to get you a 29t ring or you can always try ebay.

the first link i gave you dr.cannondale is your answer or eliflap with the TA Specialites ring if you can live with silver.

thanks. nothing wrong with the stock chain ring and i will be going down that path.

is there a reason why there are no aftermarket alternatives?

Because most people stick with 22/32/44 and also because most crankset nowadays use the 4-bolt 104 BCD, not the 5-bolt 94 BCD. The market for 29T 5-bolt rings is pretty small and might become even smaller, even Cannondale is switching to the new 80/120 BCD of SRAM XX for 2010.

FRM used to make one, but availability in the US might be scarce. I bought one from Notubes.com a few years back, but they no longer carry FRM parts.
Thanks to www.weavercycleworks.com for my awesome bike frames!
