Another broken spider for Hollowgram SL - what to chose?

    Hi guys
Yesterday I broke the spider on my Hollowgram SL's for the second time. Both times it has started with it being bend and then after I while it simply just cracks.

Is the XX spider tougher build? It looks to be made with more material.

Will the XX rings work with my current 9 speed drivetain?

    Thanks
    Lars

Race Face has a new double crankset coming out and they have a BB30 adapter, XTR, XX, Lightning and FSA will all work too. Not sure if any of them are an upgrade over your Hollowgrams but they'll work.
How is the spider being bent, you hit the chainrings riding over logs?

    Do it, I love mine.

    XX Hollowgram
    X.0 9 sp drivetrain

    D5000 Shoot

I think the durability of the XX spider is somewhat better, it weighs like 30g's more.

Trading a Hollowgram SL for a Race Face? That's like trading a Porsche 911 GT3 for a Mustang...

Hahaha but he keeps breaking them. Sometimes a downgrade works.

and I have a friend that owns a Porsche. He babies it and is always in the shop getting it fixed.

Babies it hmmm? That's his problem, a Porsche shouldn't be babied but driven like it was designed to be driven.

Well, I can't quite convince myself that replacing my Hollowgrams with a Race Face is the best idea - but thanks

So it seems I am the only one braking the spiders - damn. I think I'll give the XX a go then - I will probably change to 10speed eventually anyway.

    Thanks.
