Aluminum Jekyll creaking - help me diagnose

I noticed some creaking coming from my 2013 aluminum Jekyll while pedalling. Upon further inspection, I can make the creaking occur if I remove the rear wheel and squeeze or pull apart the rear triangle.

What are some further things to look for to figure out where it's coming from?

    Things I checked:

    - Pivot bolts are tight
    - I looked for cracks but didn't see any

    Other hints:
    - I rode on Saturday and my bike was silent - but conditions very quite muddy and maybe some grime got somewhere?
    - I started hearing it during my ride on Sunday
    - I've had creaking come from the X-12 rear axle but I can make it creak with the axle removed

What else should I check out? Where are usual spots for cracks? What else could it be?

The first batch of creaks I had were due to the screws at the bushings attachment points and shock bolts and pivot bolts all needing some tightening after initial break in. There was also a knocking sound with this too.

The 2nd batch of creaking was from the cranks needing tightening, which is apparently frequently needed with the Jekylls, at least.

I'm not sure what to look for specifically after that.

I had creaking from the bottom pivot next too the BB. Bearings needed changed.

How did you figure that out as the cause? What's the way to check that?

I stripped down the rear end of the bike, then discovered the bearings were rough.

So I did more poking around and was able to resolve the creaking. I thought I'd post in case this information is useful to someone in the future.

The creaking was indeed coming from the main pivot assembly. My best guess is that some mud had gotten in between the bolts. I undid the pinch bolts then pulled off the bearing preload caps (the drive-side one is the front derailleur mount). I cleaned and greased the preload caps then re-installed. The tightening order is as follows:

    - tighten drive side cap (front derailleur mount)
    - tighten drive side pinch bolt
    - tighten non-drive side cap
    - tighten non-drive side bolt

And magically the creaking is gone.

    The creaking ...
Great to know, thanks. I have a case of the creaks coming back as we speak.
