    2012 Flash Carbon 1 ($3500) or 2013 F29 Carbon 1 ($6500)

I need some help from the group. I can get a new 2012 Flash Carbon 1 for $3500, or a 2013 F29 Carbon 1 for $6500. From what I can tell, the biggest changes from 2012 and 2013 are the Reynolds carbon wheels and the updated lefty. Do those upgrades warranty the add'l cost for the 2013?

Part of me says get the 2012, sell the lefty that comes with it and upgrade to the 2013 lefty. I plan to do some mods to whichever bike I get...so trying to figure out what makes the most sense.

    Thoughts?

Agreed. Get the 2012, sell the Lefty to get a 2013 Lefty, you'll still have money left to do other upgrades.

I'm thinking the 2012 was better looking than the '13 too.

That is a great price on the 2012. I paid that for a 2012 C2 and felt it was a very good value.
You'll want to make some upgrades along the way, regardless of which one you buy...may as well keep 3k in your pocket to do so.

Definitely the 2012 and keep the Lefty.
Save the money for another bike. (Scalpel 29...)
BTW, Is the $3500 for a new bike at your LBS or a third party ?

    Buy the 2012

Thats a great price for a carbon 1. Amazing price. Buy the 2012 carbon 1 and ride it. In about a year sell it for 3000ish. Then buy a closeout 2013 if you still want a updated lefty, or see what 2014 brings. Either way buy the 2012 and keep the other 3k.

I changed my opinion.... Buy the 2013... and tell me where I can buy the 2012.
