    2011 Scalpel 3 Weight

    Anyone know how much the 3 weighs? I see that Bikerumor has 19.8 on the Scalpel 1 but can't find the weight on the 2 or 3.

    I can vouch for the 22.9lbs my wife has a small 2011 scalpel 3 and it weighed exactly that. I have one also but I swapped wheels, bars and seatpost and got mine down to 21lbs with ease.(mine is a large) Real nice bikes.

    Ibrown,
    I added the following;
    USE Atom Bars, Thompson Seatpost, Mavic 717 on Hope rear with DT Revolution spokes(alloy nipples), Shimano XT 11-36 cassette, Geax Titanium inner tubes and a Fizik Gobi saddle. Most of the weight saved was in the wheels, but a fair chunk was saved on setpost and saddle.

    Very nice.

    What front hub did you use? I see its a 32h.

    Also, did you weigh or ride the stock wheelset?

    How are the Revolution spokes? I just had a set of DT4.2 rims with Chris King hubs built and the builder refused to use the Rev spokes.

    I build all of my own wheels and no problems so far, they are a spoke I have used for a long time now on a number of bikes. Still got a 2005 C'dale F1000 running on the same set up, now that bike has seen a lot of race action over the years and not one broken spoke.

    Dabbled with the Sapim Laser spokes on my last my last build, which were also very good spoke. If i'm being honest I would say these were a little easier to work with, but on a whole not a lot in it.

    Which spokes is your builder recommending?

    No Pschly the UK models are coming through with the RT3, seams to be quite nice shock. The pictures on the cannondale web site are a little off on this bike as it shows it with the Fizik seatpost, Fizik saddle and a slotted chain too.

    Finally thinking about trading up to one of these. I currently have a 2006 Cannondale Scalpel Team. Should I buy a complete Scalpel 3 or just a frame and switch over the components. I love my current Fox Lefty fork w/ "brain" tech. I know many don't like this setup though.
