    2009 Caffeine F2

    Hello all,

Looking at getting a hardtail for XC racing and considering the 2009 F2 (since the Taurine is a bit to pricey).

However, I am concerned with the weight of this bike (I need an XL) and the one weighed at the bike shop comes in at around 27 lbs. It comes stocked with a mavic 317 wheel set with what I presume to be crappy hubs and I think this is the majority of the weight. Who makes lighter wheelsets for Cannondale specific Lefty front hubs - I know the Crossmax SLR's come with a lefty hub, does anyone else make lefty hubs - ie. DT Swiss etc?

How light have people gotten their F2's I want to get the bike into the 23 lb range and think a lighter wheelset will accomplish about a 1lb but I don't see shaving another 3 lbs off this bike. ANy thoughts?

Also any opinions on how the F2 rides compared to the Taurine 1 with headshock?

    Cheers all

Taurine 1 with headshock, thudbuster road seatpost, I9 aheels = just about 22 lbs at medium. First make sure you need XL, they fit at smaller sizes.
