Expensive. But I'm sure it's worth every penny. It's a lot more satisfying when you build your own bike rather than just buying it as a whole. Looks great... let us know how it rides.

it is VERY satisfying. Knowing i have what i want and also getting everything as cheap as possible. I just nabbed [today] an XTR 970 crankset NIB for $350

Those are sweet grips. Aren't Codes a little overkill for that bike?

Maybe My computer geekiness sometimes bleeds over to cycling. I believe you can never have to much power

    HT Trailbike

Looks like your building a solid trail bike. Nice to see you're not building an anorexic HT like everyone else. But all of those burly parts you put there, you'll probably going to be pushing that frame to it's limit. If that's an optimo frame, its design to be XC and race. Also, you might want to check if the fork can handle a big rotor. That looks like a 185mm rotor. I have 160 F/R codes on my trail bike and that brakes have too much power. It's nice to have but I'm running lyrik fork and 20mm axle. You have QR and Headshok. Might not be safe.

Run a fat tire and it would look nice. Post back with a complete bike.

That F1 frame is unbelievably LIGHT...too bad Cannondale only made it for one year.

You spent a lot of dough...but worth every penny spent!

I spent the same as you did, and wound-up with a 19.8lbs XC rocket(see profile).

Not sure I follow. Is there a difference between this F1 and other Caffeine frames? Isn't it the same frame whether it is an F1, F2, F3? And weren't they made for 07, 08, 09?

Those portland grips are nice, but they pretty much nullify the monkey bar due to their weight.
I run the same bar\grip setup and I'll be replacing mine with bontrager xlite grips till I can find lighter lock-ons.
