2004 Cannondale F400 owners - question about rear tire clearance

One of my bikes is 2004 C'dale F400. I built it up as 69er, full rigid SS with eno eccentric at the back. On the front I have Maxxis Ardent 29x2.4 tire and on the back I have Panaracer Fire XC Pro 26x2.1. Would like to replace panaracer with something more fat and was wondering what do you have on yours? I still have some space in the rear, my rear rim is CR18 which is i think around 22.4mm wide.
Asking for personal experience as I find tires do not always (almost never) run true to the size. Ideally would like to hear if you were able to successfully fit Maxxis Ardent 26 x 2.25 at the back (I had Maxxis Ardents 29x2.4 front and back on my Surly KM and love the combo)
