    2*9 for SI

I would like to convert my 3*9 SI to 2*9. I am running a Scalpel Team.

Cannondale have some very rare parts making it possible but some of the new models also have 2*9. Can some of these parts be used?

It is not due to weight but to get a better chain line so just removing the granny is not an issue.

Someone could confirm this but... Before, the 2x9 Hollowgram used a shorter spindle but the 2008 2x9 just has a spider that is slightly offset toward the center of the bike to have a correct 2x9 chainline. I'm guessing you could get a 2008 2x9 spider and the appropriate chainrings and it would work well. I don't have the different spindle length numbers, chainline numbers of the different spiders from then and now though....
