New question here. 1 1/8" LEFTY

Who knows how to mount a Lefty Headshock on a normal mountain bike headset at 1 1/8"
I've seen pics, and want to try...

    THANKS.

Dunno, I've thought about it but the triple (double?) clamp
needs some kind of axle/steerer tube. The only way I can
see to do it would be having someone machine you one
that would fit a 1 1/8 head tube and bearings, and then some
sort of spacers to fit the triple/double clamp.

Perhaps page terminaut on the SS page in the regular forums as I know he has a bike with a lefty. I think it looks totally cool and would love to do something similar!

    Ahh, I didn't realize he had a 1.5" head-tube.

    Nice bike though!

I guess you would just have to machine the steerer tube and the two clamps.
Terms lefty is on a Merlin with a 1.5" headtube. Thanks.

    1 1/8 Lefty is possible...

You have to machine the clamps, and use a Zoke steer tube, but it works. I have seen a few like that. I think my Lefty Max would look great on a DJ hardtail.

Which Marzocchi steerer tube? And why them in particular?
What about machining a titanium steerer tube to specs?
    Any idea on costs?
Where to find the specs on steerer tubes and clamps?!
    THANKS

I saw an article on MountainBike Mag that had a Sugar with a lot of innovative products on it, they called it "the parts magnet".

One of those products was a lefty fork look alike (just looked similar) with anti-dive features and their review wasn't great. If I'm not mistaken the manufacturer is USE but I don't remember the model nor the price. Take a look at www.mountainbike.com and search their products reviews to see if it's still there.

    Good luck

I saw in a french magazine the personal bike of Marcus Storck, an Organic Superlight with 1'1/8 Lefty carbon.
of course, it's a bike manufacturer and he has a lot of facilities do a 1'1/8 adaptator... may be if you ask him, he would make the same work for you...
