Where are we all from and where's your local

One of the most interesting thing for me about mtb'ing is the type of people I meet on the trail. So I'm just curious to see where everyone on this Canfield forum is from (I reckon we have a little in common). I mean not exactly, but maybe which town/city. Also, where's your local riding location, what type of riding can be had in your neck of the woods? I'll start..

Port Coquitlam, BC (originally from Brisbane, Australia. Moved across the pond nearly four years ago)

I live about a 15 min ride uphill to my local mountain, Burke. There are a couple of xc trails but most of the riding is blue to black diamond riding. Steep and loose fire roads will get you to the top, and give you access to most of the trails. A couple of sick old school steep and slow, rooty, rock face type teck trails but the majority of the trails are steep and quick, with few jumps and drops for good measure. Another mountain close by is Eagle, some BIG fr stuff to be had there. If I jump in the truck and head to the North Shore I'm about 30-40mins from the best riding around. BC is FULL to the rim with riding, everywhere I go there is a network to ride. Love it!

And the above is the reason I wont/cant move back to Aus.

Maryland here, but after Whistler and Kingdom Trails, I'm dragging the wife to Washington State unless we can figure a way to retire in BC. I truthfully did NOT want to come home after Whistler and Squamish.

The riding here is all XC with only a few spots that are DH/FR friendly, so its pretty much Diablo, Snowshoe etc if you really want to use your big bike.

From what I understand there are some pretty epic trails in and around WA. I've spent a few days bashing around Galbraith Mt so if they are anything to go by, I'm sure you and your wife would be happy in WA.

If you ever find yourself in BC again drop me a line, I'd be happy to show you around.
