    Project Yelli begins...

Took some time tonight to remove a 20mm spacer.

The kit so far. Not a whole lot to show - more on the way soon.

Almost forgot the wheels. They are hanging from the ceiling patiently waiting for rotors and tires.

I almost have everything I need ready for the frame to arrive. The only thing I am lacking is a new saddle. Most everything is coming off my current ride with the exception of the seatpost and headset. Can't wait to build it up!!

Nice! I had a heart to heart talk with myself and my current bike. We have decided to see other people - my first date will be with a Black Ano Yelli Screamy which will arrive this Monday. I've been testing and riding a lot of 29ers recently and while I've never ridden an actual Yelli around much it certainly looks the best on paper thus far. I think the Torch wheels are the way to go. 24, or 32 hole? I know several folks running the latest i9 wheels and they have all gotten good reviews....
    My one says BRAP!

32 hole. Still have a few weeks to go on the wheels, apparently I9 ran out of the new rims and have to wait on a shipment. Luckily I have an extra wheelset so hopefully I will get some trail time on the Yelli soon.

Looks like ample rear tire clearance, (a fairly major complaint w/ my current ride). Was going to ask about your FD set experience but I see you took that out of the equation entirely. Post a ride review when you get a chance.

Yeah, been going the 1x10 route for a while now. With the new direct mount chainring options + xx1 rings I can tune my gearing close enough that I don't need the FD. Saves some weight, and on the bikes that have clutch RDs + XX1 rings, I have the most silent drivetrain on any bike I have ever owned.

Mini ride report - Rides like it is on rails, stiffer than my 1st gen Nimble 9 frame. Lots of fun! I am pretty happy with the 120mm fork up front, no desire to lower it to 100mm.

FWIW, build came in around 24.75 lbs. Size large frame was exactly 2000g.
