I spy something beginning with 2013 Yelli Screamy...

So the Canfield website has been updated: Yelli Screamy - the 29er that handles like a 26" mountain bike frame

Some info on new colours... Anodized Orange , Green , Rootbeer , Red , Blue , Purple , Black and PC Black Chrome

Now what about photos? Curious what the rootbeer and the new-powder-coat-not-anodised black chrome look like.

Then the frame itself... ISCG tabs? 142x12mm rear? The suspense is killin' us!

The new run of Yelli's will remained unchanged from previous seasons. As far as colors, Ano Rootbeer, (brown), and Red will be new additions as well as bringing back the PC Black Chrome that we did in a very limited run last year. Our factory is charging as we speak on production and it's looking like we will see them stateside here in US mid March.

We are currently taking preorders and will include your choice of Canfield Tee for orders in by Feb 1st.

Speaking of website... We are currently working on our new site to be launched late winter. Since I have come on board, I have been working on site updates and adding a ton of content to the site - bogging down load times and adding band aid after band aid. I am very excited to have a fresh start with the new Canfield Brothers site that will don a fresh, clean appearance.

Ano rootbeer and red sounds awesome guys!! Is the former anything similar to Niner's Mild Dud finish? And never realized the Black Chrome was actually powdercoated, just figured regular lacquer clearcoat.

The "Black Chrome" is a bake in powder coat that resembles a tinted clear coat. It is a very clean and unique finish. We have a few JEDI frame in this color coming in 3 weeks. Its certainly eye catching!!

Yea Scott ! Its a pretty cool process but it makes for a more durable finish compared to just clear-coat. There were less than a dozen of this finish for 2012.

A black chrome Jedi will make for some absolutely sick builds. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those.

We are pretty stoked to have a few new colors in the line this season. Both the Ano Red and Rootbeer, (dark brown) have sparked a ton in interest with our pre-orders.

What shade is the 2013 green? Wasabi green again (would match up ace if and when DVO make a single-crown 29er fork?)... spectrum green (like the Crampons) or some other green?

The Green is our Wasbi that we have done in the past. The new colors are the Ano Red and Rootbeer.

    Cheers!!!

That wasabi green is the best shade of ano-green ever! Makes me want to get a another Yelli... not that I even need another one (which is also green, the bright powdered one)... as I can only ride one bike at a time!

cbd5600 - Chris is heading back over to Taiwan next week... he will grab a few pics for us before they hit the boat, (unless they leave before he arrives).

Only 500 to the rear ? Haha j/k that is respectable after selling my f150 Lightning i had for 8 years i eventually built a motor went trough every supercharger made and ended up putting a t76 on it (needed 80-88) and made 740 to the rear but it was a 4500lb truck so i ended up selling it and buying '93 Fox Body and have a 331 stroker (Mexican Block) that i just finished building with a t76 as well making 670 to the rear and run's low 9's with full interior street legal

Btw i am currently finishing my Yelli to compliment my The ONE but have been debating building a Jedi as well

I just received notice from our factory that the Yelli Screamy's are hitting the boat this week, which should put them here in our warehouse around the middle of April.

How's the availability looking? Wondering if I need to pre-order or I can wait until they show up. Specifically probably looking at an ano orange in large.

    Hey everyone,
FYI - the green this year is the darker one- forest- not wasabi.
The blue is now the darker one too- like a compression knob.
Red is dark too- rebound knob.
I would have loved to get you guys some early pics before they got shipped out on the boat. But the Taipei show was at the same time.

Personally, I can't wait to see how the brown looks with our blue sticker. Always loved that color combination

I was hoping for the Wasabi Green. Are the Green, Red, Blue shades the same as the colors of the rear linkage on the new Jedi builds on your FB page?

Pretty much. I'm kinda bummed since I really dig the Wasabi Green. I called and switched to Ano Blue instead. Sean was super helpful. Now all I can do is continue to wait.....

The Blue should be the same as our Jedi links from this year. A medium blue, similar to a Fox knob. The PC midnight that we offered last shipment was much darker.

Just ordered the Black Chrome!! My CK hubs and nipples, handle bar are red. I am thinking the hubs and nips will be fine with the Black Chrome, but I think the handlebar is going to be Carbon, but I don't know what color headset to pick.

Guess I will wait and see when the frame shows up.

Idk what Bros or clean 120mm means!

Went to the lbs to order the headset....told them exactly what I needed. Ok, ok, we will order it.

I drop it off to have it pressed in, and come back a few hours later. Ahhhhhh, they sent us the wrong headset. f###ckers!! I know the ****** at the lbs ordered the wrong one.

Nice to know I'm not alone! I just finished my first build ever from a bare frame; a XC 29er hardtail. The only thing I did not do myself was build the wheels. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot, but now I'm excited to have a second go at it with something more trail/AM oriented!

Sure wish there were some more used or previous seasons frame options out there. And by some I mean any! Can't believe that just when I get enough money to afford something kind of nice, I find out that the only option is brand-new-wait-for-it-pre-order-just-out-of-my-price-range. Grrr, the curse of medium guy on a budget!

Sorry for the lack of updates guys... I've been slammed the last couple of weeks. Our shipment is due to hit the port later this week, then it's just a matter of waiting for frames to clear customs. With any luck we will start shipping frames by the middle of next week! I'll post up images of the new colors as soon as we get the pre-orders out the door!

I am out of town until Monday and I have Tuesday off. I am hoping I get it by then so I have the day to build it up. I'm crossing my fingers.

    Yelli Screamy colors

Sean has been hard at work getting everyone's order out today! We will do our full studio shoot next week, however, I did a quick shoot to have color samples for you.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the preview and I am so looking forward to building up the rootbeer! Talked to x fusion today and they are sending out a trace. Should be a good match.

The yellow and green are sweet. And the root beer looks better on the Yelli than on a WFO I used to have. Nice colors this batch.

Do you work "in the industry" or does xfusion sell direct? I was surfing around for the trace models online the other day and didn't see anyone carrying them.

Curious to try one of the xfusion forks, although I will probably stick with my Fox for the YS.

Rootbeer was REALLY strong on pre-orders for us. We only have 2 XL's left! We will be doing more of this color in the future!

Not sure if they sell direct. They have a shipment showing up next week, so if they do now is a good time.

Sounds good, just ordered one myself. You planning on running it in 140 or did you have them adjust the travel?

Also, can anyone recommend a headset. I'm a bit confused with all the different options.

Cane Creek 40. EC49 for the lower, I forget the upper but I'm sure someone will chime in.

thanks guys. looks like these 49mm lowers come in different crown race sizes (30.0 & 39.7), anyone know which is normal? going to be using it with a x fusion trace with the unicrown, I checked their site and couldn't find a spec for the race size.

The crown race size will be determined by your forks steerer. Straight or tapered.

tapered so i'm guessing the larger of the two sizes, 39.7?

    dfinn,
I am undecided about 120 vs 140. I'm gonna start at 120 I think. The forks come in different settings so I didn't have to pay the 10 or 15 to move it. And they are also in the process of producing a tool so it will be easier for us to adjust travel.

For tapered, you want the 40mm race. Like this one:

My little bit of searching shows that with Cane Creek you can use a:
Tapered Steer= Zero Stack 1 1/8" top section and an External Cup 1.5" bottom section
Straight Steer= Zero Stack 1 1/8" top section and either an External or Zero Stack 1.5" to 1 1/8" conversion bottom section.
OR, that an angle set will work with either and that all you do is change a crown race that will facilitate the difference.

    AND that 10 < 40 < 110

But I don't really understand what all that means.

Yup, that confirms what I have found as well. I was hoping to use a zero stack headset to run a little more travel in the fork but keep the front end at roughly the same height but I guess there's not enough room in the frame for an ZS headset on a tapered fork. Oh well, no biggie.

Ok, let me try to break this down for you. We will be posting this on our site under build specs as well.

    Yelli headtube - Tapered 44mm upper/49.6mm lower

You will need to decide if you are running a straight or tapered steerer. If you are running a straight, you will need the 30mm crown race. If you are running a tapered, you will need the 40mm crown race.

The easiest thing do to is to order the upper and lower cups separately. (Cane Creek calls this their headset solutions options.)
    Cane Creek 110 from BTI-USA.com:
    Upper:
    DC-1602 ZS44/28.6 upper 8mm black 53g
DC-1603 ZS44/28.6 upper 15mm black 60g (The second option has a taller stack height)

External Stack Lower, this will slightly slacken your headangle and raise your BB:
    DC-1618 EC49/30 lower 12mm black 83g (Straight steerer)
    DC-1619 EC49/40 lower 12mm black 76g (Tapered steerer)

    Zero Stack Lower:
    DC-1612 ZS49/30 lower 4mm black 51g (Straight steerer)

This kind of straight talking customer service is kick ass.

P.S. Was I right about the Angleset? I was under the impression it was a master of versatility in addition to letting you get all wonky with slackitude.

Add a little fuel to the fire.

    Black Chrome

Went out on the trails for the first time with this beast.

I am just coming off a full winter of fatbiking, so this thing is a little rocket right now.

There was a mix-up with the color. I had originally ordered Wasabi Green, but switched to Blue when I learned Wasabi was no longer offered. I was still shipped a green frame. It's growing on me. I can't wait to hit the trails!!!

    BicycleMob.com - Today's deal
Anybody know how well the Raceface purple matches the Yelli Screamy purple?
Anxiously waiting to pull the trigger..........

edit- oh yea, they have GREEN too. Looks like it could match the new green, which I ain't got but kinda wish I did because despite all the comments, I think looks pretty dope.
