Nice to know I'm not alone! I just finished my first build ever from a bare frame; a XC 29er hardtail. The only thing I did not do myself was build the wheels. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot, but now I'm excited to have a second go at it with something more trail/AM oriented!

My wife is due with our second child this week. I am looking forward to the baby's delivery more than the frame's. Really, I am. Totally. 100%.

Sure wish there were some more used or previous seasons frame options out there. And by some I mean any! Can't believe that just when I get enough money to afford something kind of nice, I find out that the only option is brand-new-wait-for-it-pre-order-just-out-of-my-price-range. Grrr, the curse of medium guy on a budget!

Sorry for the lack of updates guys... I've been slammed the last couple of weeks. Our shipment is due to hit the port later this week, then it's just a matter of waiting for frames to clear customs. With any luck we will start shipping frames by the middle of next week! I'll post up images of the new colors as soon as we get the pre-orders out the door!

    Yelli Screamy colors

Sean has been hard at work getting everyone's order out today! We will do our full studio shoot next week, however, I did a quick shoot to have color samples for you.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the preview and I am so looking forward to building up the rootbeer! Talked to x fusion today and they are sending out a trace. Should be a good match.

The yellow and green are sweet. And the root beer looks better on the Yelli than on a WFO I used to have. Nice colors this batch.

Do you work "in the industry" or does xfusion sell direct? I was surfing around for the trace models online the other day and didn't see anyone carrying them.

Curious to try one of the xfusion forks, although I will probably stick with my Fox for the YS.

Not sure if they sell direct. They have a shipment showing up next week, so if they do now is a good time.

Sounds good, just ordered one myself. You planning on running it in 140 or did you have them adjust the travel?

Also, can anyone recommend a headset. I'm a bit confused with all the different options.

Cane Creek 40. EC49 for the lower, I forget the upper but I'm sure someone will chime in.

thanks guys. looks like these 49mm lowers come in different crown race sizes (30.0 & 39.7), anyone know which is normal? going to be using it with a x fusion trace with the unicrown, I checked their site and couldn't find a spec for the race size.

The crown race size will be determined by your forks steerer. Straight or tapered.

tapered so i'm guessing the larger of the two sizes, 39.7?

    dfinn,
I am undecided about 120 vs 140. I'm gonna start at 120 I think. The forks come in different settings so I didn't have to pay the 10 or 15 to move it. And they are also in the process of producing a tool so it will be easier for us to adjust travel.

For tapered, you want the 40mm race. Like this one:

My little bit of searching shows that with Cane Creek you can use a:
Tapered Steer= Zero Stack 1 1/8" top section and an External Cup 1.5" bottom section
Straight Steer= Zero Stack 1 1/8" top section and either an External or Zero Stack 1.5" to 1 1/8" conversion bottom section.
OR, that an angle set will work with either and that all you do is change a crown race that will facilitate the difference.

    AND that 10 < 40 < 110

But I don't really understand what all that means.

Yup, that confirms what I have found as well. I was hoping to use a zero stack headset to run a little more travel in the fork but keep the front end at roughly the same height but I guess there's not enough room in the frame for an ZS headset on a tapered fork. Oh well, no biggie.

Ok, let me try to break this down for you. We will be posting this on our site under build specs as well.

    Yelli headtube - Tapered 44mm upper/49.6mm lower

You will need to decide if you are running a straight or tapered steerer. If you are running a straight, you will need the 30mm crown race. If you are running a tapered, you will need the 40mm crown race.

The easiest thing do to is to order the upper and lower cups separately. (Cane Creek calls this their headset solutions options.)
    Cane Creek 110 from BTI-USA.com:
    Upper:
    DC-1602 ZS44/28.6 upper 8mm black 53g
DC-1603 ZS44/28.6 upper 15mm black 60g (The second option has a taller stack height)

External Stack Lower, this will slightly slacken your headangle and raise your BB:
    DC-1618 EC49/30 lower 12mm black 83g (Straight steerer)
    DC-1619 EC49/40 lower 12mm black 76g (Tapered steerer)

    Zero Stack Lower:
    DC-1612 ZS49/30 lower 4mm black 51g (Straight steerer)

This kind of straight talking customer service is kick ass.

P.S. Was I right about the Angleset? I was under the impression it was a master of versatility in addition to letting you get all wonky with slackitude.

Add a little fuel to the fire.

    Black Chrome

Went out on the trails for the first time with this beast.

I am just coming off a full winter of fatbiking, so this thing is a little rocket right now.

There was a mix-up with the color. I had originally ordered Wasabi Green, but switched to Blue when I learned Wasabi was no longer offered. I was still shipped a green frame. It's growing on me. I can't wait to hit the trails!!!

Raceface Atlas AM Handlebar in PURPLE up on bicyclemob today.
    BicycleMob.com - Today's deal
Anybody know how well the Raceface purple matches the Yelli Screamy purple?
Anxiously waiting to pull the trigger..........

edit- oh yea, they have GREEN too. Looks like it could match the new green, which I ain't got but kinda wish I did because despite all the comments, I think looks pretty dope.
