Crampon question: pedal screw installation (prep)

On the pedal screws do you grease the threads or use blue loctite or go raw dog?

Also, just to make sure, the pointed end goes into the pedal and the flat end of the screw is the part sticking out?

Thank you...hope I don't get beat up too bad for asking such a basic question, haha!

I used Blue Loctite and inserted the flat edge into the pedal. I am sure they can go either way but I did it this way so I could remove/replace the screws if needed.

Yeah, I just used grease and went flat side out, bullet side in because of the pics on the box. Thanks for your reply though. Hopefully this will help others.

Loctite and reverse - pointy side out. Loctite is required so the pins don't come loose (trust me, I tried without loctite first). Pointy side out makes them easier to remove if they get damaged. Been riding like that with the long pins for 6 months, had countless pedal strikes into rocks - our tracks are a nightmare for that. Havent lost or even bent a single pin, which is almost incredible to me.

I have a question about installing the pins, without thread lock the pins are loose in the body and wobble with finger pressure. I tried installing with gel thread lock and I was able to unscrew the pins by hand. I was thinking of trying vibra-tite but didnt know if this would help of now. Any advice would be helpful.
