damn... next time I'll buy a Canfield (and I can't see me buying other frames) I'll do it directly from the Bros, even if I'm in Europe.

You guys got a way better treatment than what I'm getting...

I am. I sent the Float X back to Craig to have him add some HSC since I was using all the travel too easily. I get it back today.

    Bike looks great BTW!

I have the Thomson on my other bike and really like it, however, the 150 drop and being all black is pulling at me. I made the assumption that the post was 31.6 with the 35mm clamp, but realized during the build that it's 30.9. Does the seat creak at all on the Race Face because of the smaller clamping interface on the rails? That's what really bothered me with the Reverb. Anyway, if I can sell the Thomson I think I'll try the Race Face.

Now I can finally get back to working on my rear fender.
Waiting on a new seat and adaptor for front caliper. As it sits, around 28.4lbs.

nah, I ordered a large back in june, now with the geometry tweaking i was in dubt if changing to an XL but stayed on the L... if I had some ride time on the L i got from the first batch now I'd have a better idea about the size, but I had to return it immediately in order to have a new frame from the second batch...
now i'm still waiting, i hope to get it next week but not so positive.

No creaks or squeaks yet, but the Thomson clamping interface is a tried and true design. So far though, no regrets in making the switch to the Turbine.

Thought I'd share pictures of rear fender prototype number #2

Need to take a little more off the bottom, but I have it set up so at full compression it's even with the bottom of the BB.

Using the oven and wrapping it around a circular form worked out much better.

Need to buy a 3 inch and 4 inch pipe at home depot and try those- for this one I just used something I had laying around the house- it was more about trying the oven and form vs. heat gun and jamming it in the frame.

So the next one will be trying to get the curve of it more symmetrical. I think one or two more tries and it'll be done.

It's hard to tell on the Woodie without an o-ring to obsess over I've never felt it bottom out.

I never felt the Float X bottom out either, just noticed the o-ring was pushed all the way down.

I will say that the Riot with an Avalanche shock/fork is absolutely badass. It truly gobbles up terrain and drops like a DH bike.

That is quite true....Even what should feel like a harsh hit doesn't feel that way on the Woodie.

Nice work. I've been tweaking my Mudhugger + DIY splash guard and finally come up with a good combo that keeps me and my bike clean for winter riding. Your shortie looks a lot nicer than the frankenstein job that I hacked together.

$$$$$$$....Looking very nice!! What BB did you use Jon23? I went with the Sixc crank set and the Kogel ceramic bearings and couldn't fit the bash guard due to the BB being too large in circumference/girth.

So for anyone that's interested, I'm done with the rear fender. I figured out the symmetry issue and got the curve nice and centered on the pattern. I have no problems sharing the pattern and how it's done. Making it is easy, once you have a pattern. PM me if you want the pattern and material and how to.

Here are some pics. Promise last time

Since you have a nakid frame to look at, wanted to run my idea passed you. I was thinking of getting the Canfield Brothers stiker in a reverse mask and polishing it so just the lettering was polished and the frame still raw. Looking at the completely raw frame, how do you think that would look?

Thought of going the other way, but honestly too lazy to polish a complete frame.

I don't think it would look bad, but I think the frame would have to patina a good bit for it to be noticeable.

Yea, one thing I know for certain if I don't go the polished route, I will replace the current sticker with lettering, that way there isn't any clear sticker that will affect how the raw patina/oxidizes over time.

Ok so here is what you need and how's it's done.

    The thermo plastic: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o06_s00
3 inch schedule 40 pipe from Homedepot- they sell 1 ft sections for cheap- makes sure it has a nice center line like the one in my picture.

The template, which I'll see if I can someone to link to it or, just PM your email address and I'll send it to you.

Trace the template onto the rough side of the plastic and cut it out a bit larger.

When tracing the template, make sure to mark the center line ends, then use a ruler to draw it on the plastic.

I just put a piece of foil in the oven, set the pipe in there and then laid the cut plastic on top making sure to line the center line up with the blue line on the pipe.

Set oven to 200 and watch as the plastic melts around the pipe.

It won't be heavy enough to go completely down so I had two pot holders, pulled the pipe out and quickly grabbed hold of the plastic and held it until it cooled- not very long. One note is to make sure that you hold it a manner that the wings are not getting curved around the pipe( hope that makes sense)

Used a dremel for final trimming.

Few things to consider, the template could be improved- I ran out of patience and may revisit it later.

I would suggest cutting it out of a cheap for sale sign from home depot and make sure your happy with it before doing it on the plastic- get a few to play with.

I eye balled the ears for the zip ties while I was using the dremel, so that's why they aren't on the pattern and I say to cut it a little larger.

If you take a little time, yours will probably be better than mine- but at least this gives you a really good starting point.

I was trying to gauge the blue links on the frame from past photos and the website, but the varying light would show a bunch of different blues. I bought the wheels and was kind of sweating it. When I opened the bike box I was pretty stoked!!!

Ok.... It is time to FINALLY post my Riot build!!!! This has been a special project for the last 1.5 years... Huge thanks to Canfield Brothers and DVO I have built my Dream Bike!!! Now if you know me or have been following any of my prior post, I have a personal fleet of Canfield Brothers Demo bikes for people of the Midwest area to try out. I was able to make a one time deal with the guys at world headquarters and make a 1 off Canfield Brothers Riot in Translucent Blue similar to the Yelli Screamy from a few years ago. The guys at Canfield no longer do custom colors so for them to say "yes" to it shocked me in a good way!! I guess purchasing in the tune of at least 14 frames and loads of parts since 2011, loaning out my demo's to get lots of other people the chance to try these awesome bikes out. Along with just living and sharing the love the Bros and everyone there has for building and riding bikes!!! Anyways... here goes the internet...
    Build
    2016 Large Riot- Translucent Blue
    DVO Diamond 140mm Fork
    DVO Jade coil rear shock
RaceFace SixC bars w/ Raceface stem
    SRAM Guide RS brakes
    KS Lev Integra 150mm Dropper
Light-Bicycle 35mm AM Carbon hoops w/I9 Torch classic hubs
Maxxis Minion DHF/HighRoller II tires (tubeless)
with a large amount of Canfield Brothers components(note: running 165mm arms)

And lastly -- My group shot both of my full DVO Canfield Brothers Bike- 2016 Riot and 2016 Jedi

Hope to get a few more riding pics tomorrow after a little build session!!!

This is my last season on the Prime. It has been a great steed & handles the local Fruita/ Grand Junction/ Moab stuff/ chunk with aplomb, but my next ride will be a Riot

No clearance problems at all, I've been running 13psi, which looks like the sweet spot for me. Lost air because of a thorn and not enough stans, and rode it back to my car at 6psi. No rubbing.

The Riot is a great progression from the Prime. Both are super stiff and pedal well. The Riot adds tons of bottomless plush and the nimbleness of the short stays. My large Riot is more agile and flickable in the tight stuff than my medium Prime.

    You'll love it, guaranteed.

I am intrigued to go with a med. Riot (currently on a Med Prime), but have always ridden Large Turners...having the short WB is nearly as game changing as the stubby cs's.

PS. Love the ride pics....we have at least a week before the trails dry out here. Thankfully Slickrock is dry & RTR!

I'm 5'11 and can't imagine riding a medium Riot, unless I wanted to run a 70mm stem(which is what I did with my medium Prime). Nothing wrong with a 70mm stem, just something to consider.

I did the medium vs large dance for awhile before deciding on the the large at the urging of the Canfield boys.

Love the raw, but blue raw is just stoopid nice. Canfield may be in trouble as I can see a flood of requests coming in for this color. Again, with the green I'm blown away.

Edit -Could be the best looking bike I have ever seen. Personal opinion but dang!

LOL.... Jsalas Thanks for the stoke, when building this was kinda shooting for "The Bike of the Day" on Vitalmtb... but the stoke from fellow Canfield riders mean more to me. There have been post made on my fleet before.. I guess after i get my new 2016 Nimble 9 build done I'll have to do another group/separate photo session along with why I am so stoked to be promoting the ultimate bikes from the Bros...

It's very cool to see the straight raw and that wild looking blue back to back. Both look absolutely incredible! And this frame, especially in person, is VERY hard to stop looking at!!! Very impressive build quality. The cable tabs on the down tube are a great design to wrap the 3 cables and keep the top tube clear. And most importantly, it's clearly a SOLID frame!!

We just need to get some more action shots up here!
