Anyone with long term use of Crampon Mountain pedal

Presently have the Ultimate. Love the size and shape but find they require maintenance every three months are so and each time I need to replace the little spring. The spring seems to disintegrate. Would not mind if I could get a supply of these. Anyone with experience on the Mountain pedal? Do they hold up longer? Do they use the same spring?

Anyone with long term use of Crampon Mountain pedal

I've got 1500 miles on my mountains with a ton of hard pedal strikes. Every 500 miles I have to open them up and repack with grease, but other than that they have been maintenance free. No spring inside that I'm aware of.

My mountains need repacked with grease. How do you open them up? Is there a small nut behind the black hex head cap screw?
I have about a 1000 miles on mine and this is the first time they need maintenance.

There is a small nut behind the hex cap but you need to get a special socket with thin walls from Canfield to get it out. My regular sockets wouldn't fit.

Thanks for the info. That's what I thought. Wish they would send a socket with the pedals. Cheers
