    650b front The One

Have someone built a 650b front wheeled The One?

I've finally pulled the trigger on an used The One frame, and that's how I'm going to build it.
It will have an AM build, and I'm still undecided on which fork to buy:
a Vengeance seems the easiest to go,
a new Metric would probably be the best choice (expensive too),
a Pike may be an option too, for a light build (160mm only, but front height will be the same of a 180mm+26" wheel),
    or maybe a Fox 180...

I'll be glad to see your builds and read suggestions.

I have one, Hans Damph 2.35 front and rear with Talus 180 and plenty of tire clearance. With the extra height from the front wheel I can drop the fork to the 140mm setting and still have plenty of crank arm (170mm) clearance. Going down the bike is slacked out like there is dual crown on the front. I love the set up, wouldn't change a thing!

Thank you, so you're liking the dual position fork.
I had a Fox Talas on my Yelli and wasn't happy with it (I swapped the air piston with a float one), so I'm thinking I will not buy another one for the One.

I had a older Fox 180 Talus and wasn't impressed either, bought a 2014 Talus 180 and its way better! The Pike wasn't out when I bought the Fox or I probably would have gone that route but I have to say i'm pretty damn happy with the way it is.

    No other builds?

For the fork, I'm leaning toward a Vengeance air. But i'm still open to other options (Metric and Pike, mainly because of their 650b offset. Bos too, but so expensive...)

Here is my 2011 ONE set up as a 650B on front and rear...

Rode awesome... Thinking about putting it back as a 650b for now until I pick up the Balance later on after the Jedi build

sullivan, I thought the One didn't fit a 650b rear? wild. interesting. Anything special there?

You also had a Nickel convo.... What do you think of these 26/650b convos?

The 26'' One is my main project right now but like hearing about other people's experiments - actually, the results of those experiments

    Right now:

    • Regular One Build
    • 650b/26 One build
    • Never thought to try a full 650b One until right now - the extra BB height is interesting for trail riding
    • Shorter travel 650b or 650b/26 bike

Carl- the 2011 ONE has a little more clearance at the front of the triangle. I had about 1/2 to 3/8" tire clearance with the 2.35 Pancetti Neo-Motos. It only brought the BB up about 1/2-3/4" which helped out on the pedal strikes but didn't screw to much on the geometry. I used a 180 Marz. 66 with loads of room for a bigger tire. When I try it again will use a 150mmFox 34 27.5 fork and Hutchinson Toro/Cougar tire(R/F). with a 1.5 angleset to steepen the HA to 66deg

2012/2013 Ones are too tight to run 650b rear wheels

Thanks Sullivan. Mine's 2012 so no go on the rear. No biggie. Post up when you try that 150mm Fox. I'm guessing we both got in on that $199 deal - that fork is forcing me into a whole nother' bike build I wasn't planning on. One (pun intended) at a time tho.

Yea same fork... Right now it is on my Nimble9 set up as 650b (which I am loving) but may go ahead and make the N9 a full blown 29er. Haven't fully decided yet...Will be starting a Jedi build for the upcoming DH trips planned this summer so funds might all go that way. Since that will be pretty much a new complete build minus wheels...

I have been running my 2012 One as 650b/26" mix-match since I got it, and it is very cool. The front is super slack but I still manage to climb all kinds of technical trails.
Oh and I run a 2013 X-Fusion Vengeance & Vector Air suspension setup.

Thanks SSteel, I'll build up my 650b/26" One in the next couple of months.

As you are an X-Fusion distributor, what do you know about the Metric 650b availability?
