2012 One!!!
"The 2012 "The ONE" will have a couple of changes from the 2011 model. Overall, Canfield Bros. are very happy with this bike. I think everyone would agree the suspension design is top notch excels at not only ups but downs.
This technology will not change as its damn near perfect. What will change is the following:
-New head tube gussets. ( for strength and added stiffness)
-New rear triangle. (with out adding much weight, a stiffer on all axis' rear triangle, it will help with the big guys and the DH guys)
-BB will slightly raise ( to aid pedal clearance of course, more FR friendly with out giving up DH performance)
-Headtube will steepen slighty ( still 100% customizable with an angleset. 1.5'' continued)
- Rear wheel spacing will now be 142mm or 135mm with dropout spacer
Geo charts will be up for viewing soon !"
And so it starts...

I was wondering when this thread was going to start! But man you gotta throw in more pics!
I really like the numbers of the new The One. I reckon this would be a killer hard hitting enduro frame built with a 170mm fork ,zero stack and the shorter shock option.

I took those shots on sunday at the factory. They will be arriving in the US in about a month. No full builds yet, just finished assembling them and putting them through a final inspection. We have a couple that are air shipping so you'll see a few pics in the coming weeks. Colors turned out great! So stoked to build one up with a AM build and one with a DH build.

Is there a reason why the welds extend beyond the gusset? I am not trolling. I have just not seen that before.

The welds extend to push the stresses out beyond the end of the gussets. Most cracks will start to form right at the end of the gusset because it's so stiff there. By welding past a little, it tapers the stiffness out into the tubing and removes the abrupt transision.
Most motorcycle company's do this in high stress areas.

I need a beer mug for myself with these strong welds.
Jokes aside... Sean helped me sort out a shock for my frame and blessed my part spec today. Great service and can't wait for my first Canfield.

What's the frame weight without a shock?
-
We just received our first couple of air shipped One frames and we'll be releasing the official pics shorty, but we wanted to post up this teaser...
For 2012, we stiffened the frame, tweaked the geo and dropped .25 lbs compared to the 2011's. Sean's medium frame came in at 8lbs flat.
Here's the weights with a few different shock options:
X Fusion Air - just a hair over 9 lbs
Vivid Air - 9.1lbs
Elka with a ti spring - 9.72 lbs
Fox RC4 - 9.95 lbs
Enjoy!!!

im more interested in an AM\XC setup on the one, rear air shock and 6.5" travel,
how good does it pedal uphill compared to 6" bikes?

Sizing on this frame is a bit of personal preference. The TT is 1/2'' longer than the JEDI. It seems most folks 5'8'' - 6' prefer a medium. Over 6', a large seems perfect !
Vin is going to have his setup with a 170mm fork and it should be sub 30lbs. when he's done.
The travel question gets asked a lot, basically this frame in 8'' mode pedals better than a lot of frames with 1/2 the travel. This is a NO BS statement ! This bike is magic !!!

If it's anything like the 2011 and in my experience, it's the best peddling 7"/8" bike on the market. I run mine with a Elka and can peddle it anywhere, the only thing holding it back is me.
I can't attest to the shorter shock setup but if is going to be an air shock it'll only peddle better. If you happen to live in Vancouver BC and ride a large, let me know and you can give my One a bash.

Canfield Brothers The One Images
Hey guys, I just posted up a image gallery on our blog of Sean's One, featuring a few different shock options we will be offering this year. We didn't have any Cane Creeks in stock when we shot these, (can't wait to see the black frame with all the CC gold goodness.) I am super sorry for the delay, I'll be MUCH more on top of things when my move to Bellingham is all dialed in.
