What is the actual weight of ETS-X70 frame?

Has anybody weighed the ETS-X70 frame (with shock)? What is the actual weight of the frame? The manufacturer claims the weight for 2004 model is 2,74 kg. The Weight Weenies site lists one ETS-X70 frame weight which is 2,76 kg (size 16,5", year 2003, without seat collar). However the German Bike Magazine tested the frame a couple of months ago and according to them the weight of the frame was 2,94 kg.

I posted the weight of the ETSX-70 on the weight weenie site. I also phoned Rocky about the differences between the 2003 and the 2004 and basically the 2004 is using a slightly different link plates and larger bearing bolts 6mm to 8mm if memory serves me. The 2003 uses RAD Easton tubing whereas the 2004 is Easton Ultralight. So I believe the 2004 tube set is slightly LIGHTER but very minimal. I have found Rocky to be reasonably accurate with its posted weights in general. See attached picture of a 2003 16.5" without seat collar (seat collar is very light anyway at 18 grams) with shock (fox float RL) and with derailleur hanger. I think with 4.5" of travel this wt. is very good. (my bike will be 24lbs on the nose with discs).

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the reply Jag!

Thanks for the reply Jag! I think that one of the reasons why the weight for the 2004 model on the Bike magazine was higher than yours is the rear shock. The 2004 model has Float AVA RL Pro Pedal which is slightly heavier than your shock. However it explains the weight difference only partly. Anyway thanks for the info and the accurate weight data you provided.
