Squeeze more travel out of an ETSX ???

I read in this forum about the idea of running a 1.75" stroke shock (instead of the original stock 1.5" ) on the 2004 ETSX bikes.
I ride a 04' ETSX , it's really a great bike, but I would like to have more travel.
SO, I calculated the leverage ratios of the bike with the stock 1.5" stroke shock :
In the 4.5" travel setting leverage ratio is 1:3
In the 4.0" travel setting leverage ratio is 1:2.67
In the 3.5" travel setting leverage ratio is 1:2.33
By running a 1.75" stroke shock this means I will get :
4" travel is the original 3.5" travel setting
4.67" travel in the original 4.0" travel setting
5.25" travel in the original 4.5" travel setting
What do you think about this ? Has anyone tried this ?
How will it affect the BB height ?

I have no idea. Dont know if it works for the 2004 either...
Meanwhile, cant even find a shock the right size... (6.5*1.75) .

They make lots of sizes of the swinger 3 way :
    Available Sizes: Eye to Eye X Shaft Travel = 152 X 32 (6.0" X 1.25"); 165 X 38 (6.5" X 1.5"); 190 X 50 (7.5" X 2.0"); 200 X 50 (7.875" X 2.0")

    None of them is (6.5"*1.75")...

I guess if you bought a shock for the ETSX, you got the correct (stock) size which is (6.5"*1.5")

To put my shock on they had to fabricate some parts because they kept ordering the wrong parts for my bike. so eventually they gave up and made up some parts for it. they said it would cost me $14 for the right parts but dfo you think its worth it. i was riding yestarday and i noticed that the shock was loose on the bolts. when i picked the bike up the whole linage would move like half a inch and back when i put it down. so now i gotta call and get this fixed.
