Recommend a fork for light rider?

I have a 2000 Element T.O. with a Manitou SX-R fork (80mm). It's getting old, and I'm getting older - wanting something not quite so stiff, especially on the little bumps, etc.

What fork would you suggest for this frame, and a 145lb rider? I know that RM specifies that this frame is not built for >80mm travel, so that is what I'm looking for, and I ride XC almost exclusively anyway. But there is not a lot of 80mm forks out there.

    Priorities:
    1) Smoother (plusher on small stuff)
    2) Lightweight
    3) 80mm

    Suggestions...?

    TIA
    Regards,
    Leston

You're light enough that you could ride a Rock Shox SID Race and not be terribly annoyed at the tendency to be noodley for heavier riders. Less than 3 pounds for that fork with 80mm travel.

As Rockyuphill says a Rock Shox SID would be good choice for a light rider (my girlfriend runs an old SID XC). A Fox F80RLT is probably a little bit plusher but will cost more than the SID. The new Manitou R7 is pretty light and available in 80mm. Marzocchi doesn't make anything thats particularly light.

    Good job!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have an older SID XC, but it didn't seem to be responsive on the small bumps either. Maybe I never got it dialed in correctly, but if so it wasn't for lack of tryin'
