You did a good job of protecting that stay. Peace.

Sorry I didn't catch this sooner!

The stay cracked right under where that gusset is. Chris guaranteed it woudl be strong as new. I rode it for a while that way and it seemed fine. However, that frame saw a LOT of miles- I was the third owner. The repair wasn't too bad, but after paint etc. I think it was over $300usd.

I figured I'd put my DeKerf in here. It was my fake sisters everything bike, then my commuter, then my recovery bike, then my wife's mountain bike, and now it's my off-road touring bike. Or at least it will be once I've got the handlebar position right. It's number 246 or something low like that, every tube in the front end is dented, the rear brake mounts have been replaced by a hack welder, I've actually met someone who has claimed to have stolen it a few years back as well as the dude who sold it new! This thing has history, I've always wanted a DeKerf, and even though it's clapped out and doesn't quite fit, I'm never letting it go!

This is a pretty cool write up of the full fabrication process of a Team Soft Tail.

It's been pretty quiet in here. Freshly resurrected Team SL, serial # puts production at late 98/early 99.

    Good morning,

I'd like to know what's the correct fork size for a Dekerf SST 29".

Something near 470mm axle to crown?
