    Cove STD Front Mech

I have just splashed out on a Cove STD complete with Totem.
I want to runa dualchainring and have bought a Saint Dual Chainset. However, I'll be damned if I can get a front mech to work with it.
I tried a standard bottom swing XT mech and it fouls on the rear swingarm, and I cannot find another kind of front mech anywhere although I think there is supposed to be a Saint one with a 57.5mm chainline.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I'm guessing a bottom-swing Saint would be the ticket, but I would contact Cove to be certain.

Well I have had an answer from Cove.
It seems that although the frame can run a front mech, it can't without some modification.

I'll have to get my dremel out.

Dremeling front mechs and chain guides is not very uncommon these days. It's no big deal.

But why do you want a dual ring setup in the first place? I have a single 36T ring on my STD and it's just fine. This is not a trailbike for the long climbs, so I don't really see the need for a granny.

Good luck with building your STD. The ride is awesome!

I just want to have a little bit of versatility in the frame. We don't have up-lifts or anything like that in the UK and occasionally I might have to actually ride up hill !

    no pictures of your bike.

and if you goto post reply in the red oval at the bottom of the page, click on that and you will have a box for typing in and just a little further down a upload pictures button.

what colour did you get and what size are you and your bike.

also like bik3man i am going single ring up front and if your careful with rear cassette selection you dont loose that many gears,i run a 32 ring up front and 12,26 road block in the back.
