Any differences between the '04 ETSX and the '03 ETSX?

    My LBS has a 2003 ETSX-30 on sale for $1999. I think the 2004 ETSX-30 is only $2099, a marginal $100 difference.

Any differences or changes that you guys know of from last year to this year? At this point I prefer the red color scheme of the 2003 model, but don't want to make a stupid mistake by missing out on a change to the frame, etc.

Thanks for any and all input.

the 2004 ETSX rear is stiffer...

uses clevis style pivots for the upper rear link. The head angle is slacker but that's simply
because RM is spec'ing a longer travel fork. As I recall you weigh 220 lbs. You might be
better off with the 2004. That said, your LBS should be seriously discounting the 2003.
Something like 500 - 700 off. And the pre-2004 models are still very nice bikes. But
    weigh only 165 lbs.

The 03 RAD oval tubing is stronger but more expensive to manufacture. 04 tubing is still plenty strong but RM wanted to reduce cost. That is why 03's originally listed for 2,500 and 04's are a couple hundred cheaper. If you are looking for the better frame go with 03. Also if you look around you can find the ETSX-30 for 1,500.
