I'm not sure if it is just me but I tend to remember people's bikes better than I remember people when I'm out riding. Perhaps it would be interesting to have a thread with a picture of your bike (and you if you want) and where you generally ride. I would imagine there are plenty of people on this board who cross paths regularly without knowing it. I'll start.
I ride all over San Diego but usually PQ and Mission Trails.
I finally rode with dstepper on Thurs night. I didn't know he was showing on the group ride, and I don't think he knew I was showing on the group ride, but there are enough pictures out there, that he recognized me right off. Kind of funny. He's a cool guy, and I'm looking forwarding to riding with him some more, but uh, on some more serious rides.
Hey, I just built up a Giant Reign frame that I've had for TWO YEARS!!! in my garage. I took it out for my first ride on Sunday. Pretty Nice ride. I don't have a picture yet but you'll see me riding Mission Trails, Noble and elsewhere with that bike. I have a Yeti AS-X that I ride TW and ATT and most other places.
Until I get my bike, here is an old pic of me riding with Aqua. We're hucking the rocks at Noble by the log jump. He affectionately refers to me as "Yeti Tom". About the only pics I could find with a good image of my bike.

Hey how much does your build up Reign weigh? Mine is a bit heavy but still climbs very nice, and then on the way down...
See you around, I'll be on the lookout for that Reign!
I am not sure if it is Spring or Oak that I go on a lot. One is ok, and I hear the other is still sandy from the big rains a few years back. Maybe someone else knows?.

Is that why most everyone I pass on the trail looks first, and sometime only, at my bike? It's kind of too bad, I think. I'm as much of a gear-whore bike-lover as the next guy but that behaviour on the trail makes it seem like the bike is all that matters. It feeds gear-envy, gear-whorishness consumerism. But I still want another bike.

Mission Trails is my backyard ride, so you'll see me there during the week. And on weekends I can be found just about anywhere in SoCal...or Mammoth, Bootleg, Sedona, Moab, etc.......
I might be on the Blur, one of the Yeti's, or the Litech SS.

My bikes from Santa Monica but I'll ride pretty much anywhere. Like others, I know people by their bikes far better than by name or face. yeah, i'm a bike geek...
