You can buy 3 XT cassettes for the price of 1 XTR. I don't think the weight savings or extra stiffness outweighs that extra cost. That's my take.

If money were no object, my bike(s) would be full XTR. Easy decision for you!

Tink, tink, tink.... if I've told you once, I've told you 1000 times - SRAM !!! Your answer is SRAM. Yeah, yeah, I know... 'factory dealio'. Geeze girl, you get all the breaks!

But really, the XT will prolly last a bit longer than the XTR 'cause it's built a bit heavier duty.

When are we riding??? Looks like you're finally swinging back to the dark side (mountain biking)

    XTR - good deal.

Can I ride that late? Sure can, but I usually get out at around 1700 -1730 or so. I'll make an exception for you though. We'll have to get back out there soon!

An XT cassette will generally outlast the XTR because the XT is steel and the XTR has 3 titanium cogs which makes it lighter, but a tad less durable.

If the price were equal, I'd get the XTR.

Paying full price, I'd get XT.
If you want to play with electricity, more power to ya......
