    Wild Cherry Canyon

Apparently PG&E doesn't have the time to make the deal.

But of course, if they were made a trade for a renewal on Diablo and got an extra service road to the plant, they'd reconsider.

Levying public interests? A grudge against the Blakeslee's?

I haven't seen much on MTBR about this other than updates from SLOCAUS. Mountain bikers don't have guaranteed access, but we still have a voice. Or had one before the deal was closed.

    Wild Cherry Canyon

I'm familiar with Cherry Canyon, but I don't know anything about the issue you're talking about. Can you elaborate?

Eric, it is the California Public Works Board, quote from the article:
The effort enjoyed broad public support but got bogged down when the state Public Works Board failed to allocate the final $6.9 million needed to close the deal.
The economy has picked up, so the property lease holders can probably make money in development now:
A group of investors who own long-term leases to the land did not renew an option to sell that expired in January, thus killing the deal, said Kara Blakeslee, who has been working since 1999 to put the $21 million conservation deal together with the American Land Conservancy and other groups.

The California Coastal Trail may still happen, but whether bikes or horses will be allowed on it is an unknown at this point.
