I'm looking to get a weekly night ride started in the Santa Monica's. Say, Wednesday nights with an 8pm start time with a route of up Westridge down Sully's or some similar variation. Sound interesting to any of you??? This should go without saying, but we will need to be courteous to the residents. I'm definitely open to input.

Riding again this Wednesday in Laguna Coast/ElMo, starting from Ridge Park around 4.

Is there hilly trails in Griffith or just that flat road ride there?

I'm only aware of flat roads at the moment, unfortunately.
other than the brand park trails, where do you ride that isnt a flat road (very)locally?

Try Cherry Canyon in La Canada/Flintridge and Lower Brown Mtn/El Prieto for fireroad/singletrack rides.

You can ride on the other side of the Verdugo Mtns on Beaudry, Whiting Woods and La Tuna for more for fireroads and from the top of La Tuna, go West on the ridge road to catch La Tuna singletrack.

In Tujunga, up Haines Canyon, there's singletrack you can catch if you climb most of the way up the road.

There's much more if you want to drive a bit: Santa Monica Mtns, San Gabriel Mtns...

Use this website to find places to ride:

Nice post, I didn't know there were any single track trails within the Glendale area.

Quick Cheseboro loop tomorrow morning to build up a T-day appetite . . . leaving West LA around 8:00, hoping to hit dirt by 9:00 a.m. PM if you're interested.

FYI. Cheseboro needs time to dry out after significant rain. Might still be a bit sticky from Sunday's deluge. If it rains tonight, forget about it. Los Robles is always a good backup plan, though. Handles rain very well, and it's only another 10 minutes or so down the road. Here's a Garmin track for a good quickie loop - Los Padres - Los Robles:

Wish I could join you, but I have to cook for six people. Have fun!

I do a couple nite rides a week since the time change... I love em! Gives you a whole new perspective on your favorite trails. Those drop-offs I was so used to seem a little more ominous in the dark. You'll love it.... I had to buy some long sleeve jerseys though, and sometimes I even pack a thermal in my camelback... Strange how it gets cold when the suns not around.
