Actually the raccoons here are meaner than the coyotes. I had one that came around my garden at night that wasn't afraid of anybody. I hope they will relocate the cat. Seems to me although it was close to people it had not attacked.
I hope they didnt euthanize the cat. I'll have to follow up on this. I know human safety comes first, but people should be very much aware that they are entering a Wilderness park.

The DFG is currently reviewing a request to adopt the cat by The Exotic Feline Breeding Compound's Feline Conservation Center in Rosamond. Serveral people (including myself) have written the DFG and posted the story on Facebook in the hopes the cat will be spared. After all it never attacked anyone. Please drop the DFG a line and let them know how you feel. California Department of Fish and Game
Uh, I think I would have kept my camera on that mountain lion and not the coyote...
