Where to ride in the Inland Empire
I've only had a MTB for about a month now and I'm looking for places to ride.
I live in Eastvale just North of Norco and all I've riden so far is around town and a few trips on the Santa Ana River Trail in Riverside and along the 91 freeway.
I'd like to get out into the hills some but I'm pretty out of shape so I can't do anything to radical, but I want to keep riding. I'm absolutely loving the time on my bike, so I'm looking for as many new places to ride as possible.
Right now the only things keeping me off my bike is an often sore butt (I don't have proper riding gear yet) and time, but I want to ride as often as I can.
A few places to ride near you:
Sycamore Canyon in Riverside - Geoladders -- Sycamore Canyon Tour
Chino Hills State Park- Geoladders -- Chino Hills - Twin Rings
Santiago Oaks - Geoladders -- Santiago Oaks: Chutes
Skyline in Corona- Geoladders -- Skyline - Skinsuit
If you are REALLY new to MTB, you might want to try the Fullerton Loop to get yourself started or Marshall Canyon
Fully Loop - Geoladders -- Fullerton Loop
Marshall Canyon - Geoladders -- Marshall Canyon
Some other trails include:
Santa rosa Plateau - small preserve in Murrietta. Great for beginners. Google it for more info.
Vail lake in temecula- wide variety of stuff
Simpson park in Hemet - great singletrack fun
San Juan trail - awesome awesome trail. My favorite is to shuttle it. 11.5 miles of downhill fun. But this one should wait until you are at an intermediate level at least.
