What's the usual conditon of Chumash Trail?

Today, I rode up Hummingbird and then over to ride down Chumash. The trail conditions really seemed poor to me when riding down Chumash, especially in the sections where you can "open it up". A lot of sections were heavily mottled with holes and made for a bumpy ride on a hardtail. It was almost like someone had gone through there on a horse before the path dried out. The rocky sections were fine and to be expected, but damp on the south side. Not an issue,

I expected smoother dirt on the trail. After riding Cheseboro area trails the past few weeks between rains, I guess I got spoiled with the slick and smoothed out surfaces.

What's the usual condition of the Chumash trail?

Same goes for powder canyon, there were 1.5ft deep hoof prints in some spots. I would think a horse could get hurt easily that way.

There's a boulder that has slid into the trail towards the beginning. Other than that it's good.

Although rare, I hate it when people ride up Hummingbird.
