West Cuesta / Shooters / Morning Glory / Elevator Work Day this Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010

Look at those clouds! Rain is on the way! (It rained over half an inch in the past two days!)

Now is the time to help get the trails protected to keep them riding sweet through the winter.

    What:
This is maintenance to prepare the trails for the coming storms this winter. This is the most popular trail system above Cal Poly, please come and help us keep it in good shape.

    Where:
Meet at the Eucalyptus Grove that is above Elevator trail, and just below the junction of Morning Glory and Shooters. This about half way between the top of Poly Canyon and Stenner Creek Road. You can ride in or walk in, take your pick.

    When:
    Sunday, October 10, 2010, 9:00 am. to 12:00 pm

    Details:
We will be clearing water drains and possibly doing some brushing.
Please wear long sleeves, long pants, a hat, and boots. Bring gloves, water, sunscreen, and bug spray.
CCCMB provides all tools and guidance.

    Note the photos included.

clogged trail photo - trails are full of rocks that collect in water drains and keep water running down the trail causing erosion.
clean drain photo - rocks have been removed from trail above the drain and drain itself
dry dirt work - crew leaders learning dry dirt working techniques that we will use this coming Sunday

    Crew Leaders:
Please arrive at 8:30 am for crew assignments.

Thank you, we look forward to seeing you there!

be sure to watch out for all the CCCMB haters lurking in the shrubs, they might stone you with the very rocks you remove from the trails
