    Went out this weekend.

First off, last saturday i took my trek 4500 out for the first time up. I decided to go up the Millard fireroad (FTM's reccomendation) and it was quite fun made it up to the saddle but ran out of juice to keep climbing.

This saturday i decided i wanted to try sunset ridge trail. Beautiful trail and the downhill was awesome! I made a newbie mistake and got my pedal stuck on a rock and went over the bars . My bike was dangling over the edge but luckily it wasnt too steep. The switchbacks were lots of fun (the ones i could manage at least). But i definitely got hookep on the singletrack rather than fireroad. My goal will be to conquer sunset ridge. but for now more climbing training.

I will definitely be going up every week now without fail!

thanks for all the great info guys! and gals!

    Clarification:

You must have meant Sunset Trail which is over by Altadena, not Sunset Ridge (which doesn't have any singletrack) and as is over above La Verne. And it is a beautiful trail although becoming somewhat over used. Be careful out there.Glad you didn't get injured. Sunset does have some major drop offs.
I may not be as good as I once was.
But I'm as good once, as I ever was.
