trail linking Backbone sections at Encinal?

was wondering if it's possible to connect the backbone/zuma ridge section at Encinal to the backbone trailhead that picks up near Clark Ranch Rd via trail, or is the only connection via riding on Encinal - tried ventura county trails and geoladders but the info isn't clear (and the nps official backbone trail map looks outdated). Thanks for any info on best way to connect these sections.

Go east from the Kanan Rd trailhead. That trail ends at a dirt road. Go left up that road for maybe 200 yards. As the road switchbacks to your left there are a couple of trails to your right. There is a sign that says trails closed for rehab. That is for the trail that goes straight uphill. If you look up a litlte and to your left is the trail you want. Both trails go to the same spot. The right one is closed. Basically just follow the trail. It does have a little double track and turnoffs. Just follow the tracks. It goes down to a canyon and then back up to Encinal. We were able to follow it with no problems...
