    Today's Ride

Been wanting to climb the mountain on the north side of Otay Lakes for awhile, so instead of endless pregame stuff went for ride today, started at the boat docks on the west side of the lake and made my way around the north face of the mountain off of Proctor valley rode and started my climb from there up 1700 ft to the flag. Ran into some hikers on they way who were surprised that I would be riding the trail down after much hike a bike I caught up with them at the top.

That "lake" looks more like a puddle. Should have been labeled a pond.

I've been out there once. Can't say I'll do it again though, there wasn't much fun to be had. I like the teocali and came reallllllllllllllllllly close to buying one. It just had too much of the riding in the bike instead of top on it feel. Glad I bought a FS 29er instead.

Can you access those trails from the trail that starts in Rancho San Diego at the old bridge? I've ridden that side of the lake but never the other side from where you're at. Are they pretty technical and awesome? I'm looking for some chunky technical places to ride like cowles mt and iron mt.

86 degrees today in Chula Vista CA, so I climbed the Mountain again. Have climbed it a couple of times since Feb noticed the flag was gone, today when I left it was back

About 3/4 of the way up I broke a spoke and debated whether to continue, but it held together, though I did take easier than normal on the way down and by the end the tire was wobbling some.

Glad you mentioned 'hike-a-bike', because I climbed up there on my 1X10, and as I recall there was some pushing involved. I take it the flag is on the main peak, because I made it to the lower peak and there was no flag there.
