Are there any group rides in LA area?

Hello S. Cal riders. I am out here working in downtown LA and living on the beach (Marina) and looking for some people to show me the trails and great rides of the area.

I I have been here from CO for about a month and have ridden San Juan and a few trails all in the Santa Monica Mtns. I am looking to venture out beyond these trails, but not sure where to go and would prefer to ride them with someone.

Hopefully I won't slow you down, I do race in CO (long endurance races) in the summer, but had a rough (non-riding winter) and am just getting the legs back.

Anyhow, I'd love to catch a ride with some locals and even find some regular rides. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

It's been great riding in Feb/March any day I desire. I luxury that I don't have in CO.

Thanks for the links! I am browsing them now. Good to see there are riders out here. I have not seen too many on the rides I have been on thus far.

I look forawrd to finding a few more good rides before I head back to CO in a month.

There is a ride on Thursdays that starts at 4.45 and meets at San Vicente and 4th(well actually it's more by the stairs).
It is a full on hammerfest/ race pace type of ride. The route is called at the start of the ride.
Hope you can make it out.

santa monicas are your best bet but rather sanitised at this point.
30 minutes east of you above pasadena are some great Mountain rides.
3000 vert up 6 to 8 miles of technical exposed single track- well worth a weekend visit.

the OTB guys should be able to hook you up, I'm out of commision right now
