Southridge Challenge Nov 17/18, who's going?

I'll be there! Probably shooting instead of racing though.

Glad to hear you'll be there taking pics. I bought a few from you last season and the quality was amazing.

Ha, at least I'll have a few guys to "shoot up with" then.

Thanks Marshall, glad you liked the photos. What size did you get? Any 8x10s?

After the first few races it didn't look like I'd sell enough photos to pay for gas, but the orders kept trickling in for the rest of the year, so I'll try to make more races this season.

Anyone know which course they're running? Debating big bike vs. small bike for this one.

I don't know but if it's like last years annual they run it down the other side of the road up which is just smooth and has a few corners. Then through one of the trickier rock gardens before they put you back on the normal bottom section through that smaller rock garden to the wall.
You'll loose time in both rocks sections w/ a smaller bike but you could prob. make that up on the wall and the upper section. I'm still bringing the big bike though, cuz that's all I gotz.

I'm going race DH, but was hoping they'd have 4X, guess I'll have to wait another month for the winter series to start. Good luck to everybody going.

Coming in from Az was wondering how the S D course is . Xc bike, big bike or what kind of bike is best suited for it.

What time is the SD starting on Sat,

Super D is kinda like the race meant for "All Mountain" bikes. Usually not as big of hits as the DH course but its longer than the DH course and can have some up hill parts.

That being said... you can race the DH course on an AM bike and do just fine. Nothing too krazy.

I dont remember Super D being offered this saturday though... I must be wrong, think I'll check now.

Edit: Indeed I was wrong, Super D after the XC race.

Doubt you want a big bike, many of the faster DH'ers don't even bring big bikes for the DH.

Weather should be nice Sunday, 79 degrees, sunny and only a slight breeze.

You wouldn't happen to have been the one with the 70-200IS and PW's in one of the upper corners by the water tower would you?

I shot there at the Southridge Challenge last year, but didn't shoot any XC races after that.

It was a perfect weather day in Fontana today for the xc/ Super D and downhill practice. New section they added for Super D and Downhill. Lots of crashes on 2 of the sections. Very sandy and a couple of tuff positioned rocks got a lot of riders. Was really fun to watch. Good luck to all who are racing tomorrow!

Actually, I think they were revisiting an old course! I believe it was the 2005 California Golden State course?

Hey if any of you Fontanna regualars could help me out here . I was talking to this girl by the lower rock garden who was taking pics. She got a bunch of shots of my friends but I didn't get her E-mail address or anything before she went up to the next rock garden.

Blond about 19 had a girlfriend with her to take notes on riders. She said she races also and her brother races alot.. She also mentioned she was from Sandiego

All right any help would be cool Thanks

A.P.B. - please let me know if you find out this person's email/website. I saw her taking pictures, but never got a chance to ask for her email or web page or anything of the sort.

1000-oaks - when is the best time to call about buying a picture as a download? Let me know ASAP. I need to add the picture you took of me to my collection.
