    SoCal Marathons and Tours?

Well now that the LA Marathon doesn't have a bike part for the marathon, me and my Dad are looking for other marathons/tours. We know about the Long Beach one but that is in October.

So can anyone tell me what are some other marathons that have a bike section? Thanks.

The Acura Bike Tour got canceled? My friend and I did it a couple of years ago...just good fun and an interesting way to see the city

If the Acura bike tour is the LA Marathon one then yes. I read on their forums on LA Marathon's website it won't be this year

Here's a quote LA Marathon has on their website
In an effort to ensure a world-class experience, we’ve decided that the 2010 LA Bike Tour will not be held Marathon morning, as it historically has been. We’ll share further details once they’re available and look forward to hosting a great bike event later next year.

It is a 12 hour race at Vail Lake, in Temecula (look it up) on a 9.5 mile course.

If miles are what you crave you will have 12 hours to pack them on, plus it is a lot of fun.

I did it last year and am planning this year, good times.

Darko, check out the Pasadena Marathon/Bike Tour

    http://www.pasadenamarathon.org/

If you want a really cool ride through LA, check out the City of Angels Fun Ride

    http://coafunride.com/

The cool part is: two different distances that are police escorted at an ave. pace.....meaning they don't close the street, but do rolling stops. It starts in the Dodger Stadium parking lot, cruises all through LA, then pass the Hollywood Bowl into Griffith Park and back to the parking lot.......good times!!

    hope it helps,
