not too sure if I'm on track or not
So,... The Multiple species Conservation program has purchased land, will close said land that they paid for(from tax payer/voters pockets I'm sure)
to only close access to it, and keep everyone out of the area, for their enjoyment? I guess we all could use Google maps to enjoy the area
    San Diego needs singletrack

I've no idea what the plan is. Seems that people forget this is a park, a planned park, among the largest urban parks in the Nation... you're just not allowed to recreate in said park.

Pic was taken from a dirt road. Hopefully at least the access roads can be left open to ride but at this point, I'm even doubting that.

Talked with the ranger last week. citations will be issued and most of the trails you all enjoy will be closed and or re routed.they need to line the trails with corral fencing and make trails user friendly for all.
    Humble self-proclaimed nothing.

This is funny because their trailwork plans for about the last 10 years have been "dump gravel on trails and line them with split rail"
    That's not working very well.
If they want to keep people out of areas and use fences, they should throw a couple of mountain lions and a bear or two behind the fence. That will keep the majority out Otherwise, people will just hop over the fence. Not to mention the fact that the fence itself, deters some larger wildlife from moving freely within the park.
Build cool trails and 90% will use them. You'll always have the 10%. Settle for crappy trails and maybe 50% will respect the fences.

What the city needs is a trails boss who knows trails, is passionate about them and wants to see positive change. In my opinion, the current person/people don't fit that description.

I have had a gutful of "species" protection acts. Ride everything and then ride it again. The world will not end. The ice patches will continue to grow. The air will still be sweet. Avoid, and stick it to, The Man!!!

This reminds me of "some" of the Lake Hodges north trails. The first trail up to the easement by I-15 used to be fenced off and signed "not a trail"...someone forged a trail around the western end of the fence anyway. Now that part of the fence is open again and no sign is there. Persistence! Same with the other up trail just west of it...used to be a short log fence and a sign "not a trail" to keep people out...somebody just forged a trail around that fence and now no more sign...just like it used to be in the olden days! NOTE: There are still signs up on (and all along) the easement about private property and such.

Uh, did you read the sign? It says it is funded by the city of San Diego, DFG, etc.
