    Santa Monica Trail damage

rode santa monica's this week, specifically a steep trail that drops out in reseda. For the first time since i started riding the west side in 1999 somebody has decided to put rock blockades on the trails, noticed about 5 places where they tried to block the trail by putting big rocks across it, most had already been pushed aside. That's really disappointing to see and it's similar to what's happened at Tunnels, jesusita and cold springs in SB and Mt Wilson trails. Not sure why this has started, are more people hiking and riding the trail, is this the start of biker/hiker conflicts in the area?
    nothing witty here...

Starts with just one idiot rider blasting by a hiker.. you know the story, way more heads on trails. Clueless riders/ asshat hikers need to "get taught"

Bummer. Some of those trails should not be ridden during peak hours... or at least not at speed.

Mind naming the trail or at least first letter?

There's a simple explanation: people are becoming more and more disenchanted with humanity in general. In other words, the world is going CRAZY.

And I thought I solved this problem by leaving all newspapers, TV, and web news behind and riding the trails.

Unfortunately, it's only a temporary escape from it all. Incidentally, I do the exact same thing as you are doing.

Not sure which one cookies is, but no problems on hectic. I ride it 2-3 times a month and and have never had or seen a conflict or any trail blockage. A good number of hikers, but mostly fitness/workout-oriented types who seem more simpatico with mtbs than maybe nature types might be.
