    Santa Monica Mtns night rides?

Anyone do a regular night ride in the SM's?

I'm buying a light and have never ridden at night before and wouldn't tagging along with another group. Thinking of up Sully Ridge down Sully Canyon.

I posted this months back in the So Cal Calender but it doesn't look like anyone visits that section or uses it. Everything still stands.

    West-side Wednesday night ride

We're looking for old faces and new faces for the West side Wednesday night ride. This is a long ago established weekly ride some of you may know of as the former Supergo / Performance Santa Monica ride. Now we meet at Cynergy Cycles on 25th and Santa Monica Blvd. around quarter till 8:00, and rolling out on the hour.

Rides are almost exclusively in the nearby Santa Monicas but sometimes elsewhere. Some rides that require a bit more travel -- such as Backbone via Corral Cyn, Piuma or Chesboro -- are notified via email (wednesdaynightride@gmail.com) but most are usually decided on the spot at 8:00 and usually involve variations off the nearby Sullivan Canyon, Sullivan Ridge, Westridge, etc, etc.

This isn't a blazing super-fast XC race training ride but it's not slow by any means. There's some socializing while riding up, some regrouping, but generally a consistent and fast pace for about 1.5-2 hours, usually finishing with some gnarly downhills where the trailbikes really shine. For numbers, we've had as many as 20, as few four, but usually around eight. Guys and gals both welcome. Bring a decent bike, decent light/s, 2-way radio (if you got one), and maybe a few bucks to have a beer or two afterwards at McCabes, near the orginal meeting spot in Santa Monica.

Doesn't sound like he's looking for the Nightgrinders if he's never ridden at night before. They tend to make it a hammerfest on every ride.

they're a cool group of guys who just like to ride and end it with a beer. They're not out to crush it XC style. They've got a good mix of guys - they won't leave anyone behind. Head out there - I've missed the last 2 weeks (B-day on the 29th and Kayla had a play last night) -

If you want to do it let me know I'll meet you out there.

About half of the NG ride at race pace, but there is a slower group. They are all good guys but you won't have a good time if you are not an advanced XC rider with a few night rides under your belt already

I never apologize. I'm sorry, but that's just the way I am.
