Come out and join us as we premiere the documentary "Singletrack High" in San Diego. This is a film about the NorCal High School Mountain Biking League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
Didn't know there was High School Mountain Bike racing or did and want to know more?
Doors open at 7:00 PM and the film will roll on the big screen at 8:00 PM.
Location is Tiger! Tiger! Tavern, a family friendly craft beer restaurant located at 3025 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego 92104.
Representatives from the SoCal League and the San Diego based Eastlake and Ramona teams will be there. The SoCal League currently hosts over 350 student athletes from 36 teams at 5 League races and a NorCal/SoCal State Championships between February and May every year.
There will be a suggested donation of $5.00.
This will be divided amongst the Ramona and Eastlake teams. Expect some giveaways too. Feel free to donate more as the teams often run on a shoestring budget. Having a few extra dollars on hand makes it easier for the teams to make important upgrades to bikes or just keep the ones they have running.
This is a family approved (and recommended) event! The more the merrier! The kitchen will not be open but we will have an SD area gourmet food truck on hand so grab some food and come on in. Craft beer and wine will be available to those 21 and up.
Here's the official film scoop:
At the age of 16, many American kids trade in two wheels for four. Trusty steeds that once gave them freedom to explore on weekends now collect dust in the garage. For a growing number of high school students in Northern California, however, two wheels donít get dusty, they get dirty. Their lives continue to revolve around weekend rides, but now those rides have a finish line. These are the student athletes of the NorCal High School Cycling League. This is Singletrack High.
