    San Diego Riding

I will be in the San Diego area this saturday. Looking for some people or someone to ride with because i'm completely unfamiliar with the trails in the area. Because I haven't done much riding over the summer, my conditioning is about intermediate but, my bike handling skills are (I would say) closer to the advance side.

PM me if I can hook up with a group ride or what ever ride. I just want to learn the trail network in the SD area (not alone).

    Thanx...

    Derek

I know you do not want to learn SD trails on your own, but if you have not choice, this is a great resource. www.mountainbikebill.com

    Hey Derek,

I'l second the suggestion to check out the http://www.mountainbikebill.com/ site. San Diego sprawls out over a huge area, so you should probably take a look at some maps and see what riding areas are within an acceptable driving distance of where you are going to be.

Hubby and I are leading a decent sized group at Noble Canyon tomorrow. It's 36mi and around 4500ft of climbing. The lowest elevation is around 3800ft and we climb up to 5600. Lots of singletrack climbing with exposure and rocks. A really steep paved road.. extended rocky descents, exposure... and some of the best singletrack so cal has to offer.

If you're not sure about fitness, though, I dunno.. It is a LONG day. We're usually out there for around 9 hours.

I would love to do that ride, but I don't have that kind of time this Saturday. How often do you do it? I have not done a long ride like that in a while. It sounds like fun.

Tour de Noble, nice! We'll be taking a group out there too but we're shuttling this time. Weather should be perfect all weekend. Might have to do 2 shuttles! Probably see ya out there, have a great ride!

    Derek,

There are several rides posted here:

    http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/trailhead/

Check MTB Bill's site to find out about the trails they are riding...the Sycamore Canyon & Elfin Forest rides are both SD area on Saturday. You can always find people at Daley Ranch on a Saturday morning also.

That Elfin ride sounded good to me, but I'll be at Calaveras for a couple of hours Saturday morning as that's what a friend has in mind.

    Definitely check MTB Bill's site...
