    Riding in Feb

Hi guys, looking for trails to ride in Feb between LA and San Diego while on vacation.
Traveling is no problem as I shall have a car and would also consider heading inland if necessary.
    many tanks in advance.

Too big of a request to cover. Hundreds, if not thousands of trails. Santa Monica mountains, San Gabriel mountains, and Santa Ana mountains are all fine choices.

Only one note of caution: February is usually the rainiest month (such as it is) around these parts. Possibly could be rained out, but otherwise a great time of year for riding here.
    If not biking, then what?

If it's a wet winter you may struggle to find some open parks, but national forest land doesn't shut down. Plenty of trails in the Santa Ana mountains that are actually really good when it gets a little wet (San Juan, Holy Jim, Trabuco).

Smaller place in the IE like Vail are usually really good that time of year, and a bit further east if you like some narrow technical stuff - Art Smith and Hahn Trail in Palm Springs (not sure on conditions since they got flooded out a few weeks back).

Stuff in general --> MountainBikeBill's Mountain biking Trail Reviews, Videos and Pictures (regional links to the left).

If you can work out a shuttle, Palm Canyon Epic could be done if there isn't much snow at the upper trailhead:

    Thanks for your advice guys.
Decided to stay in the Palomar mountain range, checked MTB Bills site but could find no trails mentioned in that area.

North or south? To the north there's Thomas Mountain - Ramona Trail in Idyllwild (bit of a drive, may have some snow up top), Vail Lake in Temecula, Art Smith - Hahn Trail in Palm Desert (drive).

To the south - Daley Ranch, Nate Harrison Grade (no legal singletrack that I know of, but solid fire road climb).

Lots of good road riding, though.

Go back to his page and click on the north san diego county link, there are tons of trails, but you will have to come down off palomar to get to them.
